 WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?
This course introduces individuals to basic welding techniques, supported by theoretical knowledge of the subject.  Suitable for both hobbyists and those undertaking welding in their jobs.


OBJECTIVES
The course objectives are to develop an individual’s practical skills, to enable them to reach the levels required by the chosen Standard ensuring a full understanding of the MAG welding process and the associated safety requirements.

 COURSE OUTLINE

  1. Welding safety
  2. Process principles
  3. Identification of welding controls and settings
  4. Types of metal transfer (Dip, Spray, Pulse etc.) and their application.
  5. Types of filler wire and their applications
  6. Identification of shielding gases and their application.
  7. Producing a butt weld in the down position
  8. Producing a lap fillet in the down hand position
  9. Producing a tee fillet in the down hand position

 MATERIAL
Mild Steel

Other materials are available upon request.  Please note that additional charges will be applicable.

 PPE REQUIRED

Learners will need to bring the following with them:
- Safety boots
- Fire retardant overalls
- A pair of welding gauntlets
- Welding Screen
