Employers - Recruit an Apprentice
So, you're thinking of recruiting an apprentice?
It is a big decision for a business to take on someone new, especially during these challenging times. However, hiring an apprentice makes sense. Even Rishi Sunak, The Chancellor of the Exchequer, told the House of Commons on the 8th July during his Summer Statement: “We know apprenticeships work. Ninety one per cent stay in work or go on to further training."
During the Summer Statement The Chancellor of the Exchequer, announced that on top of the £1,000 incentive there will be a brand new bonus for businesses to hire apprentices.
However during the March 2021 budget, as the take up of offer has been lower than forecast the Govt has now extended the incentive plan date as well as increasing the financial value.
On the 4th of March 2021 Rishi Sunak, said: “Our Plan for Jobs has spread opportunity and hope throughout the crisis – helping people back into work and harnessing their talents for the future.
“We know there’s more to do and it’s vital this continues throughout the next stage of our recovery, which is why I’m boosting support for these programmes, helping jobseekers and employers alike.”
This means that employers could receive up to £3,000 for hiring an apprentice regardless of their age between April 2021 and September 2021. The finer detail can be found in the Govt Apprenticeship Funding Policy Document.
