OVERVIEW
The course is designed to instruct delegates in the safe use of cranes, hoists & lifting equipment with the necessary background, theory & practice.


COURSE CONTENT
The Health and Safety at Work Act, Docks Regulations, Lifting operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998

Safe use of:

  1. Wire ropes & slings, chain slings, shackles, swivels, & hooks
  2. Cranes appropriate to the work situation
  3. Crane signals
  4. Tag lines, eye bolts, bulldog grips, beam clamps
  5. Fibre webbing slings, fibre round slings
  6. Pull lift, chain blocks
  7. Overhead structures
  8. Safe slinging practice

Also tuition in: Weight estimation, finding the centre of gravity and explanation of relevant legislation.


COURSE DURATION
The standard course is of one day duration, although tailored courses can be provided to suit the requirements of individual employers.


VENUE
This course is ideally suited to presentation on-site using the customers’ own facilities and structured to meet the company’s particular needs.
