OVERVIEW
This course has been re-introduced to align all industry qualifications for inspection and testing wiring systems to BS 7671. It replaced C&G 2394 & 2395. This C&G 2391-52 course is aimed at practicing electricians who wish to gain qualifications in both initial verification and periodic inspection and testing. A 2391-52 qualification is currently required in order to gain your JIB grading as an approved electrician. And with an impressive 86% pass rate on this course you can feel reassured that you are in good teaching hands.
COURSE CONTENT
The course will cover the specific methods of initial and periodic inspection and testing all types of installations, combing a mix of both theory and practical sessions covering single and three-phase installations, to the current requirements of BS 7671. It covers the inspection and testing techniques as given in IET Guidance Note 3 and how to professionally complete Certification and Reports.
Key areas covered include:
- Safe isolation of electrical circuits and installations
- Initial verification of electrical installations
- Completing the inspection of electrical installations prior to their being placed into service
- Safe testing and commissioning of electrical installations
- Safe testing before circuits are energized (for further testing)
- Safe testing of energized installations
- Requirements for the completion of electrical installation and condition certificates and associated documentation
- Safety of systems and equipment prior to completion of inspection, testing and commissioning
- Inspection of electrical installations prior to them being placed into service
- Commissioning electrotechnical systems and equipment
Assessment for this course:
- 1 hour 20 mins - Short answer question paper – open book
- 30 mins - Visual Inspection Task (photos)
- 2 hour Online Multi Choice Exam – open book
- 2.5 hour Practical Assessment
