Donation from Aquila Nuclear Engineering Ltd

Following the purchase of new IT equipment, Aquila Nuclear Engineering Ltd was left with a surplus of legacy laptops and computers ready for secure disposal.

However, instead of just disposing of them, they contributed back to the local community by securely wiping and offering up this equipment to their staff for their own personal use, in exchange for generous charitable donations.

As such they raised £539 and are thrilled to be donating this to SETA who support Aquila in delivering their engineering apprenticeships.

Guy Coakley, Engineering Manager at Aquila (pictured) said “For over 50 years SETA has been a cornerstone of engineering apprenticeships within the local area. Myself and a number of other senior members of our teams have previously completed apprenticeships with SETA, testament to their importance within the engineering sector in the South of England.”

Guy added “Aquila is committed to offering the highest quality apprenticeships in order to develop industry leading engineers. We view our partnership with SETA as vital to achieving this, with apprenticeships a key part of our strategic growth plans. This donation is a great opportunity to provide additional support to SETA and I look forward to continuing to work with them.”

Julie Gough, Chief Executive Officer for SETA (pictured) said “We would like to thank Guy and his team at Aquila for their donation.  Aquila’s continued support is greatly appreciated. With SETA 'Past Masters' within their ranks Aquila will continue to go from strength to strength in driving their strategic growth plans, and we look forward to supporting both current and future apprentices to help achieve these.  It is great to see that apprenticeships feature strongly in their future succession plans."

Aquila Nuclear Engineering are currently recruiting three Design and Draughtsperson Apprentices who will complete their initial off the job training at SETA in Southampton.  If you would like to apply then please visit the Current Apprentice Vacancies page on our website.
