Workshop training to recommence for apprentices

The Government’s announcement on 22nd February 2021 confirmed the easing of lockdown restrictions as part of a gradual roadmap for reopening the country. As a result of this SETA is pleased to advise that we will be re-opening our workshops to apprentices from the 8th March on a phased return basis. Not all apprentices will be returning on this date. Both employers and apprentices will be contacted separately to advise of specific arrangements.

Both BTEC and HNC delivery will remain online for the foreseeable future. Apprentices who require additional support can arrange to see tutors and come into SETA as necessary.

Due to the nature and complexity of the workshop practical training, apprentice numbers within workshop groups will be limited. This will allow a safe working environment for all concerned.

The phased approach is being taken to ensure the health, safety and welfare of everyone in our buildings (learners and staff) and to ensure that we are compliant and following the latest Health & Safety and Government guidelines. As such restrictions and safety compliance measures are in place and must be adhered to at all times by those on our sites. Full details of which can be found in our latest operational procedures

Safeguarding and pastoral support is always available from our dedicated team should you wish to speak to someone for emotional support and guidance about returning to SETA, or another matter. If you feel this is something you could benefit from then please email safeguarding@seta-training.co.uk. One to one help is available through a Teams Chat if preferred.

The comprehensive arrival procedure has been in place (and regularly reviewed) since our initial re-opening in May 2020 when we were able to open to commercial customers as we are safety critical and serve the engineering and construction industry, utilities and other key workers. We have successfully been running courses throughout this time Covid compliant, and made necessary adjustments to our operations when required.

SETA would like to thank you for your continued support during this challenging time. Our apprentices have been amazingly resilient and shown great tenacity with online remote learning, as well as demonstrating great patience while our workshops have been closed to them.

We look forward to their return and to having busy (and noisy!) workshops again.

Should you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact our Apprenticeship Team.
